Charles Pugsley Fincher, creator of Scribble Beach, has lived on South Padre Island for three decades. The Island sits three miles off the southernmost tip of Texas.
Living in other places, Fincher found that you could take the boy out of the beach, but you couldn't take the beach out of the boy. So he packed his sandals, Ts and cargo shorts for moved to the beach permanently.
Fincher and his permanent girlfriend, Dana Allison, practice law together in The Allison Law Firm -- her Dad's and her firm -- which has offices in Brownsville and Corpus Christi, Texas. Fincher, however splits his time between art projects and law. Dana also has a horse farm called Farasi Farm.
Fincher's most next-most-recent project is a cartoon for law people called Scribble-in-Law at LawComix.com. He also did the long-running political comic strip Thadeus & Weez which is retired, but one time ran in 15 daily newspapers and on numerous Web sites. For a harried two years, Fincher did the award-winning Web political cartoon, The Illustrated Daily Scribble which ended in 2006, but recently has had some erratic posting.
Dana also lives on the Island and she and Fincher spend their spare time going for runs on the beach, making fiercely-spicey veggie taco salads, and watching the NBA or whatever sport is in season. And of course wearing shorts, Ts and sandals.
